Incredibly well thought out and executed commentary on what it means to be human
Absolutely fantastic!! It was incredibly well made, super captivating, deliciously mysterious, and surprisingly tender.

Dark, Gritty, and Undeniably Insane
I absolutely loved this podcast. I've listened through several times now and I can't get enough of it. It's a twisting, bone crunching worm that's made its way into my mind. Thank you for making this, I adore it so deeply.
A standalone sci-fi horror masterpiece from the creator of one of my favourite fiction podcasts. Deviser is one of those stories where you have to avoid putting yourself too firmly in the character’s shoes because what’s going on is far too horrible to contemplate. I love the paranoid feeling that perpetuates through the show, of knowing that something dreadful is about to happen but not being able to work out what before it’s too late! The twists and turns were immaculate and I’m looking forward to a future relisten!
Quick and to the point, Deviser is another good take on the future of humanity but add its original spin with the concept of Father and Son. What starts off as a seemingly cliched spaceship story will have you question everything with each plot twist. Definitely recommend this especially for how bite-sized the entire story is.
Fantastic....
A science fiction horror monodrama that is a coming-of-age story of sorts. The soundscaping makes the scenes of body horror feel visceral. The beginning of the first episode gives away much of the twist, which while providing some sense of dread, also made the first couple episodes feel slow. The story deals with themes of father/son relationships and the nature of humanity and includes biblical (each episode title refers to a day of creation) and literary (especially Frankenstein) references.
A decent post apocalyptic gory survivor horror. The gore part isn't really my thing. I correctly guessed the concept from episode 1 but not the big twist at the end.
Very immersive, cleverly produced and well acted. It lead me to listen to Malevolent, wich is also a masterpiece.
Not a bad production, amazing to be a one man gig. I enjoyed listening to this podcast although I found the plot to be a bit commonplace (happens constantly in sci-fi horror, isn't that bad) and sometimes the dialogues a bit silly or "tellish". Overall production is not bad at all.

Even If You See Where It's Going, the Ride is Worthwhile
I adored DEVISER. The production quality was almost flawless (insanely impressive considering it was 99% a one-person production!), and more importantly the story was fantastic. I managed to guess several things ahead of time and copped to the theme even before that, but despite that I'm very glad I listened to the end. I lack the words to articulate exactly why without spoiling things, so I'll sign off here.

Mind Blown
This podcast was so well done! You are amazingly talented, motivated, and very clever - I didn't realize the 7 episodes all tied in together and what you were referencing until the last episode and when I clued in, it made me so happy lol. Please be very proud of what you created!

Riveting
Classic high tension sci-fi. Excellent.

Great stuff
Really good. Lots of great influences and references
Awesome

Solid immersive experience
This scratches the horror itch I look for, but in audio format.

fantastic
i’m very disturbed. possibly fundamentally changed. 11/10 i’m going to go make everyone i know listen now.

A gem
This was...I just finished it a few moments from writing this. I've been listening to alot of podcasts to help pass the time at work. Typically finding some rather amazing work. But this, this was by far one of my favorites. A true gem, and as a writer, I could only hope to reach to such great heights as this. A truly amazing experience, and something I will carry with me for a long time. I do hope for more work from you, and look forward to any future content. Think you for sharing such a dark and meaningful story.

just getting started
I picked this audio drama because I just caught up on Malevolent. Need to keep myself occupied or I'll start chewing drywall while waiting for new content. Deviser episode1: " immidiate realistic whimpering, sobbing and terrified screaming" Me: 👁👄👁 Such an striking performance! Harlan Guthrie, your anguished noices bring me unbridled joy. (Please stay safe.) Looking forward to the rest of this series.

This is not human. You are not human, you're sick!
DEVISER is inhumane and sick! I loved every second of it! The story, the SFX, the voice acting ... everything is horrifyingly visceral. Let's not forget the mindblowing fact that a single person produced this goosebumps-inducing, shudderworthy masterpiece of sci-fi horror. podcast and story was this good. The worst thing about DEVISER is that there isn't more of it. Fingers (no matter if too many or not enough)crossed for a continuation!
Spectacular. On a technical level, Deviser has superb voice acting (always a mark of talent to have character voices with filters and have them still able to be understood), and sound design: there are sounds in Deviser I've never heard in an audio drama before, and they're all incorporated seamlessly into the flow of the story. And the story itself is absolutely incredible - full of twists and turns to have the listener second-guessing, but also a beatdown's worth of emotional gut punches. A really fascinating insight into the nature of parenthood, survival, and what it means to be human.

Amazing Story
I love it so much. I have listened to it over and over again and I fall asleep to it. It's the right amount of scary and it has the right amount of twists.

Listen to this NOW
This podcast is one of the best audio dramas I’ve listened to yet. Directly on par with if not better than Darkest Night, and Sayer. Here’s hoping Harlan creates A LOT more stuff for us to enjoy! No, I’m not going to tell you about it. The way the story unfolds is absolutely best the less you know. I’ve gone through it 3x now and am emphatic about recommending the story to everyone I can. It is most definitely disturbing and unsettling, I’ll say that. But the payoff is well worth it. Jump in with both feet, I promise you’ll not regret it. Big cheers to Harlan Guthrie!!!

Fantastic
Loved every second of it, scratches that body-horror and sci-fi itch I can't seem to get rid of. Fantastic audio quality & story.

Oh. My. Lord.
Never in all my many times listening to podcasts have I ever heard something this incredible. Somehow I need more shows just like this. Every piece of this story had my jaw to the floor.

Bloody Good Stuff
It's suggested you go into this podcast blind and I agree that makes for the best experience. So, forgive me if this review is vague. Deviser had me nauseous, on the edge of my seat and unable to stop listening. If you can handle gore and body horror, if you enjoy dark themes, if you love a spooky Sci fi, give it a go.
love sci-fi, love horror, love existential open-ended questions. the writer/performer/audio engineer whiz that is harlan guthrie knocks it out of the park again.
A really good Sci-fi/Horror, heavy on the horror. Mind the content warnings, it doesn't pull any punches.
Truly outstanding. I found it engrossing, well produced, and well acted and intend to give it another listen soon.
Deviser is a phenomenal work. It really makes you think about what it means to be human. The story is compelling, emotional, and downright terrifying at times. I would expect nothing less from Harlan.
One of the best works of horror sci fi I experienced ever, the best one i heard in this medium. Incredible work of art.
